Beatrice Edwige strong reinforcement in Ikast

Ikast HB has acted to solve a tough injury situation. Since the start of the week, Beatrice Edwige has joined the Champions League side on a deal that boosts the club with international experience.

Edwige, 36 had no club since she left Ferencvaros after the spring season. Now she brings capacity from performing in four previous CL clubs (also Rostov-Don, Györ and Metz) to Denmark.

– I’m looking forward to being part of the team and the club, and experiencing the atmosphere and the support from the fans. I’m eager to help the team and will give my best to contribute, as I always have in my playing career. A new adventure in a new country is starting for me, and I can’t wait, she says to the club webpage.

Edwige might make in Ikast´s squad for the Wednesday game at home versus Copenhagen. The CL debut could take place when Ikast welcomes Krim Ljubljana in the weekend.

Ikast´s presence on the transfer market was caused by injuries on Ane Høgseth and Karen Klokker.

– It is a great gift for us that Edwige sees Ikast Handball as her future club. It has gone extremely well since the reports came about the extent of Ane and Karen’s injuries earlier this week and the dialogue and chemistry with Edwige were quickly good. I am sure that Edwige can make a big difference for Ikast Handball and a big role awaits her from day one, both defensively and offensively, says the club director Daniel Grønhøj to the club webpage.
