Henny Reistad stays in Esbjerg

Henny Reistad has made a decision. The Norwegian superstar will continue in Team Esbjerg for two more seasons, thus providing reliable force for the club in their international quest.

Esbjerg announced the contract extension in connection with last weekend’s game in Champions League, where the home crowd could sum up a second place just before the break.

Reistad arrived at the danish top team in 2021, just after winning the CL trophy with Vipers Kristiansand. Her qualities in many aspects of the game has so far aided Esbjerg in two Final four performances.

– Henny is the anchor of our team and, as the world’s best handball player, means a lot to the team, the club and the whole city. She is one of the few complete players and has exceptional physique, motor skills and explosiveness, just as she has added layers in the defensive game. And she is both a team player and a leader, says the coach Tomas Axnér to the club webpage.

Henny Reistad looks forward to further development in the red jersey.

– I think I have calmed down a bit more in my game, and I know what my skills are, so I can use them at the right times. I continue to work on what I am not so good at, including being more creative in the attacking game. You live in a bubble on both the club team and the national team, and I have no difficulty in motivating myself. It’s great fun to play handball, she says to the club webpage.
