Danish League: Odense on top before WC break

With all the top teams having played nine rounds, Odense HB keeps the first position in the Danish league for the World Championship hiatus. Odense even secured full points for the autumn schedule, outscoring Copenhagen 37–33 in the Wednesday game.

Odense laid the ground for victory in the first half, distancing the guests by 22–15. Yara ten Holte added a total of 15 saves to her hard work from the season start onwards, Elma Halilcevic found the net easily from the left wing and Thale Rushfeldt Deila steered the attacks with precision in the passes.

The performance towards the end was not as impressive, but Odense guarded the lead and reached the WC break undefeated.

The same effort brought Esbjerg just one point behind in the overall. The second placed team pushed hard all the way and ended up eleven goals better than Sønderjyske on away ground. Esbjerg was solid throughout and brought good form in the last weeks, Live Rushfeldt Deila (five goals plus four assists) was among the best on the last night of domestic handball until the beginning of 2026.

Viborg HK and Ikast HB battled it out for a last minute-decision and Viborg win, 28–27. Two victories in a row puts Viborg in fourth place, just ahead of Ikast with two losses and a coach change to consider. Rosa Schmidt scored the last goal in the game, Ikast failed to equalize when Louise Bak between the posts stopped a distance shot.
Horsens HH climbed to ninth spot after 26–23 over last-placed Skanderborg HB. With three straight wins on home ground, Horsens is very near the playoff line where the top eight thrive.
