Skara HF wins Swedish national championship

In dramatic fashion, Skara HF secured the club’s first national title by defeating IK Sävehof. The game was decided in overtime, where Skara HF managed to pull off a 31–28 victory.

IK Sävehof´s three-year championship streak came to an end last night. Game four was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams goalkeepers putting in top performances. At halftime Sävehof had a one-goal lead, with the score being kept down to just 10-9.

The second half was full of lead changes. Both teams held three-goal leads at certain points, but neither side could pull away. Emma Gyltman tied the game for Skara HF with less than a minute left. IK Sävehof had a chance to win the game, but couldn’t convert.

In overtime, IK Sävehof struggled offensively and Skara HF could secure their first-ever national title. Emma Gyltman was the hero of the match, scoring an incredible twelve goals.

After the game, there were huge celebrations both among players and fans.
