Peter Johannesson returns to the roots: “Looking forward to coming home and playing for Sävehof again”

Peter Johannesson brings a lot of Bundesliga and international experience in his return to IK Sävehof. The goalkeeper has the potential to be a profile player in the Swedish league for the coming years as he has signed a contract with Sävehof from 2026 to 2029.

Johannesson left Sävehof in 2015 for a solid career abroad. Eleven years later he’s delighted to reestablish himself in close to Gothenburg surroundings.

– I am looking forward to coming home and playing for Sävehof again. It is no secret that I am a big winner, and the goal is definitely to win the Swedish Championship again and play in Europe, he says to the club website.

Sävehof will gain super routine from a total of ten years in HBW Balingen-Weilstetten, TBV Lemgo, Bergischer HC and GOG when Johannesson rejoins.

– With Peter we are getting an experienced player who also knows the club well. With the routine he possesses combined with a skilled goalkeeping game, Peter will be important for us next season.
