Isak Persson returns to Sweden to join HK Malmö

HK Malmö has secured a high-profile signing in right winger Isak Persson, who as recently as June lifted the Champions League trophy with SC Magdeburg.

Persson, who began his career with H43 Lund before moving on to Lugi HF, is now returning to Sweden after several seasons in the German Bundesliga. He first played for Bergischer HC before joining SC Magdeburg.

Ahead of the 2024/2025 season, reports suggested that Persson was close to joining HK Malmö, having even trained with the club following Bergischer’s relegation. However, when the opportunity to join Magdeburg arose, he chose to remain in Germany. Now, the move to Malmö has been finalized.

– I chose HK Malmö because it feels like the right step for my career at this moment. There’s the opportunity for a lot of playing time, and with the European qualification matches coming up, the chance to play in Europe is especially exciting, said Isak Persson.
