Barcelona signs star goalkeeper: “It’s a dream fulfilled”

The rumors are true, Magdeburg keeper Sergey Hernández has officially signed with the Spanish club. The 30-year-old will guard the Barcelona goal from 2026 to 2029.

Barcelona has reached an agreement with the Spanish goalkeeper Sergey Hernández for the upcoming seasons. Hernández will join the club next summer, signing a three-year contract.

– Hernández is set to arrive at the Club in his sporting prime and after having established himself as one of the best keepers in the world, says Barcelona on their official website.

Hernández spent most of his youth career in Denmark with Kolding before making his professional debut with Spanish side Anaitasuna in 2015. Since then, he has played for Logroño La Rioja, Benfica, and currently Magdeburg.

The keeper has achieved major success at club level, especially with Magdeburg, winning both the Champions League and the Bundesliga. In recent years, he has also become a regular for the Spanish national team, making 67 appearances so far.

Hernández spoke about joining Barcelona as a lifelong dream come true.

– Every step I have taken so far in my career has been about returning home one day, and to FC Barcelona, a club I’ve always dreamed of playing for. I am proud to become part of the history of this club, says Hernández.
