Elverum delivered a commanding performance in the Norwegian league top clash against Kolstad. The league leaders completely outplayed their opponents to secure a convincing 37–25 victory, despite Simon Jeppsson scoring an impressive eleven goals for the hosts.
Expectations were high for a close contest as fourth-placed Kolstad welcomed league leaders Elverum in the Norwegian top division. The opening stages lived up to those expectations, with both sides trading goals and Kolstad staying within touching distance thanks to Jeppsson’s early scoring.
The backcourt player found his range early on, firing in four goals in the opening stages to keep the hosts in the game. However, Kolstad struggled defensively and went into half-time trailing by two goals at 14–16.
Any hopes of a comeback after the break were quickly dashed. Although Jeppsson continued to deliver in attack, Elverum stepped up the pace and began to pull away. Their fast-break game proved particularly effective as the visitors turned a narrow lead into a commanding advantage.
Kolstad had no answer to Elverum’s intensity and eventually suffered a heavy 25–37 defeat. The result strengthens Elverum’s position at the top of the table, while Kolstad missed an opportunity to close the gap on the league leaders.
