Concerns were raised during the last league round. SC Magdeburg’s Icelandic superstar Omar Ingi Magnusson landed unluckily with his right foot and left the game in pain. Now the 27-year-old will miss several months of the season.
The back right Magnusson, one of the Bundesliga’s most prominent players, will have to focus on his own recovery instead of national team sessions and club training in the near future.
Magdeburg communicates that he will avoid surgery after the injury to his right ankle. On the other hand, the WC in January/February and the next three months with the club team are out of question for the back court star.
The big club seems to consider bringing in reinforcement given the extent of the damage.
– The next few days and weeks will show to what extent a meaningful addition can be secured in the short term, says the club’s CEO Marc-Henrik Schmedt to the website.
