The third round in the Euro 2026 qualification became complete with some interesting results ti report Thursday night. No winning streaks remain, instead three ties tightened the standings with another game coming up this weekend.
With the exception of Latvia, the teams of group 4 are neck to neck halfway into the qualifiers. Serbia put Spain under pressure and ended up with a 27–25-victory via deciding goals by Mateja Dodic and Lazar Kukic. Italy also has four points to show in the three horse-race.
Austria stood their ground against Germany with Tobias Wagner and Sebastian Frimmel first in line to please the home crowd. Frimmel had the last say from the penalty spot and put 26-26 in the net in the final minute.
The contenders in group 8 couldn’t be separated with one points each as a reward. Poland and Portugal who battled it out until 36–36 is still ahead of Israel and Romania, where the latter part took their first point in the group stage with 29–29
