Kuwait’s national handball team has officially appointed Aron Kristjánsson as their new head coach. This appointment is considered a major step forward for Kuwaiti handball, given Kristjánsson’s extensive experience at both the national and club levels.
Kristjánsson previously led Bahrain’s national team from 2018 until the 2025 World Championship, accomplishing several key milestones. One of his most notable accomplishments was guiding Bahrain to the quarterfinals of the Olympics in Tokyo.
In addition to his time with Bahrain, Kristjánsson has an impressive coaching resume in European handball. With experience in both international tournaments and European leagues, he is a valuable addition to Kuwait’s coaching staff.
