Swedish handball fans have reason to celebrate as HF Karlskrona and IK Sävehof have both secured spots in the group stage of the European League following thrilling qualification victories.
HF Karlskrona booked their place in the group stage after defeating Poland’s KGHM Chrobry Głogów in a closely contested decider at Brinova Arena. Coming into the match with a three-goal advantage from the first leg in Poland (33–30), Karlskrona had to fight hard as their opponents kept the match closely contested
In front of 1,625 enthusiastic spectators, the home team managed to hold off their rivals, winning 37–35 and securing overall progression with a five-goal margin. Karlskrona will now face a tough group featuring Melsungen, Benfica, and Green Collect.
Meanwhile, IK Sävehof confirmed their place in the group stage with another impressive performance against HK Malmö. After a commanding 33–24 win in the first leg, Sävehof maintained their momentum in the return match, edging Malmö 38–36 to progress with an overall margin of eleven goals. In the group stage, Sävehof will face Frederica, Tatran Prešov, and TSV Hannover-Burgdorf.
