European League: Hammarby shock RK Nexe with 30–28 win

Hammarby claimed a 29–28 victory against RK Nexe after a close encounter in Sweden. The home side held a narrow lead for much of the game before securing the two points in the closing stages.

Hammarby made the stronger start, turning 3–3 into a 7–3 lead with Gustav Davidsson and Elliot Stenmalm contributing in attack.

Nexe responded as the first half progressed, with Marcel Jastrzębski making several saves as the visitors reduced the deficit. Hammarby nevertheless went into the break leading 16–15.

The Croatian side fought back to level at 20–20 in the second half, before Hammarby pulled away to 28–24 with five minutes remaining. Nexe reduced the deficit again, but Hammarby held on to secure a 30–28 victory.

Elliot Stenmalm was Hammarby’s top scorer with eight goals, while Tin Lučin led Nexe with six.
