It’s four games and four wins for Michael Appelgren and Sweden. In front of a roaring home crowd, the Swedes produced a second-half comeback to beat Slovenia 35–31.
Despite some injury struggles, it was Slovenia who took control of the game early. Offensively they found plenty of ways to hurt Sweden, while the hosts struggled with their finishing despite creating good opportunities.
With Makuc leading the way, Slovenia took a two-goal lead (15–13) into halftime. But after the break, Sweden turned up the heat. Appelgren replaced Palicka in goal, and after a few quick saves, Sweden were able to turn the game around and take the lead.
Slovenia fought back and never let the match get away completely, but they never truly came close to retaking control. Sweden were ruthless, running at every opportunity and frequently punishing Slovenia on the break.
After scoring an incredible 22 goals in the second half, Sweden secured two huge points. The win takes them to the top of the group, and the Swedes must now be seen as clear favorites for a spot in the semifinals.
