Group A delivered high drama heading into the final round, with multiple teams still in contention. Iceland left no room for doubt in their decisive match, producing an explosive attacking display to defeat Slovenia 39–31. Croatia faced a tougher challenge against Hungary, but held their nerve in a tense finish to claim a 27–25 victory and book their semifinal ticket.
In Group B, Denmark had already secured progression but confirmed top spot by defeating Norway in their final game. The second semifinal place came down to a direct showdown between Germany and France. In a goal-filled encounter, both teams’ star players hit double figures, but Germany proved sharper when it mattered most, winning 38–34.
