One Veszprém secured a 35–29 victory away against Füchse Berlin after a strong start and a decisive finish in the EHF Champions League.
The visitors made a flying start, with goalkeeper Emil Nielsen playing a key role as Veszprém went on a 5–0 run to build a six-goal lead after just 17 minutes. Hugo Descat was also clinical from the penalty line, while Ahmed Hesham proved difficult for Berlin to contain.
Füchse gradually fought their way back into the game as Mathias Gidsel stepped up and Veszprém began to make mistakes in the attack. Andreas Palicka also made several important saves, helping the hosts close the gap.
Gidsel continued to carry Berlin’s attack after the break, scoring 10 goals in total. Füchse had the chance to equalise at 25–25 in the 48th minute, but Tobias Grøndahl missed from the penalty spot.
That proved to be a turning point. Veszprém regained control and finished the match with a 5–1 run to secure a six-goal victory.
