Already eliminated from the competition, Vardar produced one of the biggest surprises of the EHF Champions League. The North Macedonian side choked Nantes away from home, claiming a convincing 33–27 victory.
It was a busy Wednesday night in the EHF Champions League, with several matches taking place across the groups. In Group B, Vardar delivered a major upset by beating Nantes on their home court. Despite the victory, Vardar can no longer qualify for the knockout stages. However, the result opens the door for MT Melsungen, who face Wisła Płock tonight.
In Group A, Veszprém hosted Füchse Berlin in a heavyweight clash. The Hungarian side, led by an outstanding Emil Nielsen in goal, took control in the first half and went into the break with a commanding 20–12 lead. Meanwhile, Partizan and Porto shared the points in a 33–33 draw, eliminating both teams’ playoff hopes.
Group C produced another upset as Zagreb edged past PSG 29–28 in a dramatic finish. David Gravić became the hero for the Croatian side, scoring the decisive goal with just seconds remaining. PSG had already secured their place in the next round, but they still have the group’s top spot to fight for. In the final round, they will face Aalborg, who defeated Celje 34–30.
