Sander Heieren joins Fredericia

Fredericia HK prepares for a goalkeeper switch next season. Sander Heineken replaces Thorsten Fries between the posts in a three-year-deal starting 2025/26.

The Norwegian keeper, Heieren comes with several years experience from the Danish league. The 26-year-old is also used to national games with eight caps so far and a reserve role during the Olympic Games in Paris.

– Fredericia is a team that I believe is on the way forward. Right now they are playing in the Champions League, which makes it very attractive. I also feel that they are one step closer to fighting for medals, as they have done for the last two years, and that is something I have not experienced yet at my current club. That is why I want to take a step further in my career, he says to the club webpage.

Heieren will form the goalkeeper team with Sebastian Frandsen while Thorsten Fries leaves after the season.

– Thorsten has made a fantastic effort for FHK over three seasons, and we wish him all the best in his further handball career. Before we say thank you to Thorsten, there are many important matches ahead of him in the season with the Champions League, Santander Cup and the Men’s League, where he will want to maintain the high level he has shown so far this season, so that we can end with medals for the third season in a row, says director Thomas Renneberg-Larsen to the club webpage.
