Hampus Wanne is leaving Barcelona. According to RTHandball, the left wing will join Pick Szeged in the summer of 2025 when his contract with Barcelona expires.
The Swedish star left Flensburg for Barcelona in 2022. The 30-year-old then signed a three-year contract with the Spanish powerhouse. Next summer, when his contract expires, Pick Szeged is rumored to be the next step in his career.
The Hungarian club will, from the start of the 2024/2025 season, be coached by the Swedish duo Michael Apelgren and Jonas Källman. In addition, Wanne’s former teammate Jim Gottfridsson has long been rumored to be heading to the club and the Swedish national team goalkeeper Tobias Thulin is already confirmed.
With Barcelona, Wanne has won both the league and the cup twice. As recently as Sunday, he also won the Champions League for the second time in his career; the first time was in 2014 with Flensburg.
