Andreas Palickas’ future club has been an secret for a few months. Kolstad HB officially kept the news under wraps over the New Year period, but it is now confirmed where the goalkeeper will be until 2027.
The Swedish national team goalkeeper has spent more than a decade and a half abroad, with the exception of a brief stint with Redbergslids IK on a short-term contract in 2022.
After stints in Germany (THW Kiel & Rhein-Neckar Löwen), Denmark (Ålborg HB), and most recently France (Paris Saint-Germain), the 38-year-old is headed to yet another country with an ambitious club.
Palickas’ hunger for success is a key theme in his presentation by the Trondheim-based club.
– The fact that it is a sports project I believe in was, of course, decisive, he said to Kolstad’s website.
– When you look at the squad and the club’s vision—both short-term and long-term—I believe that after 20 years as a professional handball player, I can contribute a lot to the project’s growth. This gives me huge motivation to take the step and become a Kolstad player. It’s as simple as that, Palicka continued.
