EHF has completed the process and presents the 16 starting teams in Champions League 2024/25. Dinamo Bucharest and HBC Nantes are back in the elite line-up while FC Porto was denied in the selection.
The first nine teams had a fixed place in the competition and no need to await the Friday meeting with plenty of nerves. Another six teams was upgraded after the evaluation, with the addition by wild card for Fredericia HK (Denmark).
”The general possibility to award one place with a wild card instead of via the existing criteria catalogue was confirmed by the EXEC in March 2023”, writes eurohandball.com.
Five teams will have to suffice with European League: Elverum Håndball (Norway), FC Porto (Portugal), Tatran Presov (Slovakia), Bidasoa Irun (Spain), and Kadetten Schaffhausen (Switzerland).
