Dinamo București has confirmed that their head coach, Xavi Pascual, has left the club.
Now, according to Gazeta Sporturilor, rumors say that Veszprém has payed 200,000 euros to activate his release clause
Xavi Pascual, 56, who had one year left on his contract, just announced that he will be leaving Dinamo București. During the recent season Dinamo won all possible domestic trophies and reached the Final Four of the European League, where they lost to both Flensburg and Rhein-Neckar Löwen.
Now, according to Gazeta Sporturilor, a Romanian newspaper, the well-celebrated head coach is set to move to Veszprém.
“Xavi Pascual will leave, having received a substantial offer from Veszprém. The only discussions are about the release clause; we are requesting something different from what the Hungarians proposed. We cannot keep him, nor would it be morally correct,” said Ionuț Popa, president of Dinamo București, according to the newspaper.
Veszprém are set to pay 200,000 euros to activate his release clause, and they are also ready to pay him over 30,000 euros a month in salary. In the contract, there is also rumored to be a clause that he has to win the Champions League within two years.
