After many rumors, it is now official. Pelle Segertoft is leaving his hometown club Önnereds HK for the Danish top club Fredericia HK.
– FHK has shown interest in me for several years, and we have had a good dialogue about my development, says the 20-year-old on the club’s website.
The Önnered native made his debut in the Swedish Handbollsligan at just 17 years old and has since been linked to major clubs like Barcelona and Elverum. But now it is confirmed that Segertoft will become teammates with William Andersson Moberg and Kasper Palmar at Fredericia HK.
– We have followed his development for a long time and are very proud to present Pelle as a player for Fredericia Handball Club from the summer of 2025. He fits into our profile and our defense, so we are well-prepared for the new season, says the club’s CEO Thomas Renneberg-Larsen.
Segertoft has scored 89 goals in 25 U-national team matches and played a key role when Sweden won silver at the U18 European Championship in 2022.
– Now a new adventure and chapter in life awaits. Something I have aimed for many years. But first, we will do everything required to make this season something truly special, says the superstar on Önnered’s website.
Fredericia is currently in third place in the Danish league.
