It has already been reported – but now Pick Szeged has confirmed that they are signing Janus Smarason for the upcoming season.
“I’m looking forward to next summer, so that I can put on the blue jersey”, Smartson says at the club’s website.
During the Friday media reports stated that Janus Smárason was on hos way to Pick Szeged. Now the Hungarian club has confirmed the news.
On their website Pick Szeged confirms that they will sign Janus Smárason, who will join during the summer on a two-year deal from Magdeburg.
“I am signing for a club with great traditions. I personally experienced how popular handball is in Szeged. Many of my teammates in the national team told me about how wonderful the PICK Arena is, what a fantastic atmosphere the fan base creates. I’m looking forward to the start, I’m looking forward to next summer, so that I can put on the blue jersey”, declared Janus Smárason.
Before joining Magdeburg the Icelandic playmaker has represented the likes of Göppingen and Kolstad in Norway.
