The EHF has officially confirmed the line-ups for the 2026/27 Champions League season. A total of 16 women’s teams and, for the first time, 24 men’s teams will compete in Europe’s top club competition.
The EHF Executive Committee approved the evaluation group’s proposal on upgrade requests, shaping next season’s final field.
On the women’s side, 6 of the 7 upgrade requests were granted, completing the 16-team line-up.
The men’s competition will expand significantly. The group phase grows from 16 to 24 teams, now divided into six groups of four. In total, 13 of the 16 upgrade requests were approved.
The group stage draw takes place on June 26 at 11:00 and will be streamed live on the Home of Handball YouTube channel. The season begins in September, with the women’s competition starting on September 5–6 and the men’s on September 9–10.
