It was a dramatic finish when PSG faced Orlen Wisla Plock in the third round of the EHF Champions League. The match, played in Poland, ended 24–23 to PSG after a nail-biting conclusion where Andreas Palicka emerged as the big hero.
Plock seemed poised to secure their first points of the season when they were awarded a penalty in the final seconds. However, Andreas Palicka stepped up and saved Michal Daszek’s penalty, securing the victory for the French visitors. Daszek, who was the top scorer of the match with eight goals, missed the chance to equalize and take points for his team.
Palicka had been crucial earlier in the match as well, with several spectacular saves. Despite a slow start, he grew into the game and delivered an impressive second half. In addition to his saves (48% efficiency), Palicka also scored two goals, and was, without a doubt, named “Player of the Match.”
