After a few days of rumour and speculation the deal is done. Anders Eggert returns to SG Flensburg-Handewitt, this time in a leading capacity in cooperation with head coach Nicole Krickau.
Since the left wing legend spent more than ten years playing for the top Bundesliga side, Flensburg is definitively a special club for Eggert.
After more than 400 games and plus 2 500 goals, the supporters well and truly said goodbye to the then 35-year-old danish wing man in June 2017.
Eggert moved on to Skjern HB and subsequently opted for coach assignments with KIF Kolding after his active career.
From 2024/25 and onwards Flensburg will have danish leaders by the bench, Nicole Krickau continues while Eggert is set to replace Mark Bult.
– SG has always been a part of me, and I still felt a small part of it. The fact that I now get a proper opportunity to work for this great club again is very special to me, says Eggert to the club webpage.
Club director Holger Glandorf seems equally convinced that Flesnurg has found the right person for the assistant coach seat.
– Anders knows and lives the values and visions of our SG. For us as a club and our fans, I am very pleased that we have managed to fill the position of assistant coach with a true SG legend, says Glandorf to the club website.
