After three straight wins, Fram could cheer as champion in the Icelandic league. The deciding game contained a last minute-drama where Þorsteinn Gauti Hjálmarsson scored in a free position to give Fram the title.
Fram had several causes for celebration.The club’s first play-off triumph in twelve years meant the double, since Fram also lifted the cup trophy earlier in the spring.
After finishing fourth in the league stage, Fram beat Haukar 2–0 and left only one game to take for the favourite FH in the semifinal. Even the capital team, Valur stood no chance in the long run.
The third final saw Fram in the half-way lead (15–13) with Valur searching for an opportunity to surprise.

Before moving to Füchse Berlin and spending five seasons in Rhein-Neckar Löwen, the back court star also stood on top with his youth team.
