Björgvin Pall Gustavsson continues in Valur

Björgvin Pall Gustavsson returned to his home island and signed for Valur in 2021. The experienced keeper has more to offer between the posts, a new contract runs until 2028 according to handbolti.is.

Gustavsson, 39 years old, has had a tremendous impact playing for Iceland in 281 games and 18 major tournaments. His importance for Valur, can’t be overestimated.

– It was a great moment for us when Björgvin Pall decided to join us in 2021. Since then, he has been between the posts for us and has been the best goalkeeper in the Icelandic League, says Valur´s chairman  Jón Halldórsson in a press statement picked up by handbolti.is.

Valur is the ninth club in Gustavsson´s career, with the announced deal he will at least have performed seven seasons for the capital club.

– Björgvin Páll has not only performed excellently in goal, he has also come to our club with such energy and ambition and has had a very positive impact on our entire club, Halldorsson continues.
