Only VfL Potsdam can be caught producing as low as 18 goals in a complete game. The recipe for a loss repeated itself when HSG Wetzlar ruled in the duel between low-ranked teams, Wetzlar won by 26–18.
The newcomer Potsdam has yet to break the barrier and collect points in the top flight. Wetzlar away could have been an opportunity but Potsdam lacked pace and effective combinations to challenge.
The home team spotted the issue early on, 7-2 after 14 minutes secured a safe passage through the first half. In a furious period after the break Potsdam reduced the deficit to one goal (14–13), but Dominik Mappes and Stefan Cavor made the experience count and Wetzlar pushed away again.
In the end Wetzlar gained two points after two lost games and moved away from the relegation region.
