A couple of days ago, we could announce that Oscar Bergendahl will have a long-lasting stay in Magdeburg. Now it is clear that another Swedish star is extending his contract with the top club. Albin Lagergren is extending his stay with the club until 2028.
Albin Lagergren moved from the Swedish club IFK Kristianstad to SC Magdeburg in 2018 and played there until 2020. After that, he went to Rhein-Neckar Löwen before returning to SC Magdeburg for the current season. Now it is confirmed that Lagergren is extending his contract and will remain with the club until 2028.
– After I came back, I quickly felt at home in the team and in the city. It was as if I had never been away. We have an incredibly strong team with an outstanding coaching staff, and my family and I are very happy to be part of this fantastic club and city for several more years, says Albin Lagergren to the club’s website.
– When Albin’s move to Magdeburg was confirmed, we knew he would quickly reintegrate into the team. He knew the club, the system, and many of the players. That it happened so quickly and, above all, worked so well in our game is, of course, fantastic. Together with Omar, he probably forms one of the best duos in the right back position. Albin is an outstanding player, and his extension is of great importance to us. We look forward to more years with him in SCM,” says head coach Bennet Wiegert on the club’s website.
