Rumors: Dika Mem has signed with Berlin

It has been coming for some time, and according to Danish TV 2, the deal is now done. Dika Mem will join Füchse Berlin in what would be one of the biggest moves in handball history.

With rumors circulating for a long time, Berlin director Bob Hanning confirmed last week that the club was in the race to sign the French superstar Dika Mem.

– Dika Mem has an offer from us. He only has to choose between us and Paris. My gut feeling says he’s going with us, the director told Sport Bild on New Year’s Day.

And maybe Hanning had more than just a gut feeling when he made that comment. According to Danish TV 2, Mem has decided to sign with Berlin and will join the German club in 2027. This is backed by French outlet L’Équipe, which also reports that Mem has made his decision.

With Mathias Gidsel already at the club and Simon Pytlick set to join in 2027, the move would see Berlin form a backcourt trio unlike anything seen before. Gidsel, Mem and Pytlick together will be must-watch for all handball fans, and it will be fascinating to see whether Berlin can get the trio to reach its full potential.
