Rumor: Sebastian Barthold set to join Magdeburg

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Sebastian Barthold would be leaving Aalborg after eight years with the club. Now, according to reports from RTHandball, the left winger is set to join SC Magdeburg.

Barthold scored 1,232 goals for Aalborg over his eight-year stint. But this season will be the Norwegian’s last in Denmark. RTHandball now reports that he has signed with the German powerhouse SC Magdeburg.

The left winger reportedly received offers from other top clubs, including Pick Szeged, but chose Magdeburg, who secured a spot in the Final Four just over a week ago.

In Magdeburg, Barthold is expected to replace the injured Mathias Musche.
