Daniel Pettersson has decided to renew his contract with SC Magdeburg. The Swedish right winger will remain with the Bundesliga club until 2027.
Joining from Swedish side Eskilstuna Guif in 2016, Pettersson has spent almost ten years in Magdeburg. During those years, he has won every major title, both domestically and internationally. Pettersson has been one of the key players, scoring over 500 goals in the Bundesliga alone.
– Daniel is a player who benefits any team. He’s reliable on the pitch — and as a person, too. He brings a wealth of experience and knows the club inside and out. I’m all the more pleased that he’ll remain part of our team, says coach and sporting director Bennet Wiegert.
Pettersson’s new contract will run until 2027, keeping the 33-year-old in Magdeburg for an additional season.
– I’m happy to be staying in Magdeburg. The support here is exceptional. Our fans are unique and always there for us. I’m looking forward to continuing our quest for titles with this fantastic team, says Pettersson.
