All things taken into account, it seems like Mathias Gidsel will have another super season. In the training game against VFL Potsdam the productive star of Füchse Berlin scored 14 times.
Gidsel in the German capital has brought no less than success and his fourth year in the top side looks like no exception.
In the local duel versus Potsdam, the back court icon took control and delivered with speed in his feet. Gidsel´s first goal meant 4-1 and the early lead couldn’t be challenged by Potsdam.
It still took Berlin until the final 15 minutes to impose further advantage. Having lost the momentum from 20–13 to 21–17 at half-time Berlin was tested even more as Potsdam equalized early in the second half.
– The start of the second half was also anything but what we had planned. But when we regained our composure, made some saves, switched back to a fast-paced game, and were better defensively, everything was quite decent, the coach Jaron Siewert said to the club webpage.
Fabian Wiede and Leo Prantner scored seven times each, adding up to Gidsel´s total number of goals.
