Marko Grgic opted for a top domestic side when planning for the next part of his handball future. SG Flensburg-Handewitt announces a three-year-contract with the promising back court player – from 2026 to 2029.
Grgic parts ways with ThSV Eisenach, but not until the end of next season, which leaves time for the club to try to replace the current top scorer in the entire league.
The 21-year-old has also played for the national team since May 2024 and won the silver medal in the Olympic Games in Paris.
– I’m thrilled to be a part of SG Flensburg-Handewitt. The club is one of the largest in the world, and I want to help it get back to where it belongs—namely, at the top. Above all, I’m looking forward to the fans, the standing terrace, and everyone who lives for handball and for this club, Grgic says to the club webpage.
Flensburg´s coach Ales Pajovic appreciates that the speculation concerning Grgic´s future club ended up with him coming to Flensburg.
– Marko is one of the greatest talents in the handball world. At his young age, he already has a lot of experience and is already a member of the German national handball team. There aren’t many players who can say that. Marko brings a good character and a certain mindset. He always wants to achieve the best, Pajovic says to the club website.
