Magdeburg created distance to Frisch Auf Göppingen

SC Magdeburg continued on a winning streak and cut off Frisch Auf Göppingen dyring the second half. As a joker with several matches in hand compared to the top teams, the reigning champion currently holds the sixth position in the Bundesliga table.

The columns concerning lost points might say more about Magdeburg´s capacity than the overall calculation at the moment.

Four zero point games and a tie puts the title contender in line with third-placed Füchse Berlin, if and only if Magdeburg achieves maximum points in the rounds that will get them back on track with the competitors.

Göppingen and Marcel Schiller in super shape (eleven goals) posed no threat to Magdeburg in the long run. Felix Claar handled a lot of responsibility with seven goals and five successful assists, aided by the pivot Magnus Saugstrup as the perfect alternative to take pressure of the back court line.

Magdeburg created a gap to 24–16 and the last 15 minutes allowed the guests to reduce pace and still keep the distance to avoid setbacks.
