Lönn set to leave Stuttgart – replacement confirmed

Adam Lönn came to Stuttgart in 2019 – but leaves when the contract expires after the season. Then Wetzlar’s Lenny Rubin will replace the Swede after the season.
– Adam was and always is a role model for will and fighting spirit, says the club’s CEO Jürgen Schweikardt to the club’s website.

Adam Lönn left Handbollsligan and HK Malmö for Stuttgart in 2019. Since then, he has grown into an important component of the Bundesliga team. But the spring will be the 32-year-old’s last at the club. This is because he has announced that he is looking for new challenges when the contract expires after the season.

– Adam was and always is a role model for will and fighting spirit. We wish him and his family all the best in the future and thank him for his commitment to TVB, says club boss Jürgen Schweikardt to the club’s website.

However, there is no need to stress for Stuttgart, who already have the replacement in place. This in the form of Wetzlar’s hard-shooting Swiss Lenny Rubin, who is preparing for the EC premiere against Germany on Wednesday evening.

– I am really looking forward to the new challenge after six wonderful years at HSG Wetzlar. I am completely convinced of TVB Stuttgart’s philosophy and the quality of the team. The Stuttgart region offers a huge potential for handball that has not yet been fully exploited. I am sure that we will take the next step together, explains Rubin.
