After months of rumors, Dominik Kuzmanović has officially joined VfL Gummersbach. The 21-year-old has signed a four-year contract.
– He proved what he can do throughout the entire European Championship in Germany, said Gummersbach’s head coach Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson on the club’s website.
VfL Gummersbach continues to impress both on and off the court, this time by signing the Croatian super talent Dominik Kuzmanović. The goalkeeper comes from the Croatian first division club RK Nexe, with whom he reached the round of 16 in the EHF European League last season.
– It’s a nice statement from a young player who believes in us, and we are convinced that he has a great future ahead of him, said Sigurdsson.
Kuzmanović is best known for his 22 saves at the recent European Championship during Croatia’s 30–24 victory over the German team. He also won a gold medal at the 2019 European Youth Olympic Festival and silver at the 2021 U19 European Championship.
– That’s why we are very pleased that he is joining us, explained Sigurdsson.
