SG Flensburg-Handewitt will benefit from the capacity in the backcourt star Kent Robin Tønnesen for at least another season. A new contract is announced via the club website.
Tønnesen was previously acquainted with Bundesliga (HSG Wetzlar and Füchse Berlin) when he signed for Flensburg in the summer. But the return to German handball after several seasons in top sides – Veszprem KC, Pick Szeged and Paris Saint-Germain still meant the return of a high valued player.
– Kent is a true team player. He works with great focus, brings stability to our game, and helps the team with his experience. His extension is a strong sign of our mutual development, the coach Ales Pajovic says to the club website.
With eight match days completed, Tønnesen has provided 22 goals and ten assists in domestic action plus many other details given his experience.
– I feel very comfortable at SG – the environment, the fans, and the atmosphere here are something special. We still have a lot planned as a team, and I’m looking forward to continuing my journey with SG, he says to the club website.
