HSV Hamburg focused on attack against MT Melsungen and scored 42 times in front of an enthusiastic home crowd. Rhein-Neckar Löwen and TSV Hannover-Burgdorf got tightly involved and the guests secured a 37–36-win to take over the first place.
An undefeated row since the end of December keeps Hannover-Burgdorf in the race for the highest positions. Rhein-Neckar Löwen was near enough to stop the away team but Hannover-Burgdorf managed to lead for the final 50 minutes until 35–36 on the board.
With two minutes to go Uladzislau Kulesh decided the game taking Hannover to a three goal lead., scoring his only goal in the game. Marius Steinhauser was more prominent in Hannover’s offense and Renars Uscins was reliable in the attacking setup.
Hamburg had two losses in a row but returned to a winning formula. Moritz Sauter led the way from centre back position and Hamburg made the most of the second half increasing the lead from plus two to a ten goal advantage at the final whistle.
Hamburg moved to tenth position and Melsungen continues in up and down motion while traveling.
