Since Branko Vujovic had his contract terminated, Hannover-Burgdorf has needed a new backplayer. And now they have found their replacement: Vilhelm Poulsen, a 24-year-old from the Faroe Islands.
– We are very pleased that we were able to close the gap by signing Vilhelm. He is considered a player with strong defensive skills and a good fit for our team both on and off the court,’ says “Die Reckens” sporting director Sven-Sören Christophersen on their website.
Poulsen played this season with Lemvig-Thyboron in the Danish first division, where his team finished last.
– For me, moving to the strongest league in the world is a huge dream come true. I quickly had a good feeling in the first conversations with Sören and Christian,’ says the player himself.
The young right back played a significant role in the Faroe Islands’ remarkable success during the 2024 Euros.
