Goalkeeper switch in Gummersbach – Obling instead of Ivanisevic

VfL Gummersbach will make a goalkeeper switch in time for 2024/25. Tibor Ivanisevic is due to leave the club, Bertram Obling has just signed a two-year-contract.

The danish keeper, Obling is set to complete his second season in Germany before he joins Gummerbach.

Around 400 kilometers separate his current and upcoming team, HC Erlangen is occupied with the relegation battle while Gummersbach made it to seventh place prior to the national team break.

The spring season remains for Obling in Erlangen, then he moves to Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson´s team.

– Bertram is an excellent goalkeeper who demonstrated his class in Erlangen and also previously at IK Sävehof in Sweden. He is a very talented, explosive and highly emotional goalkeeper, says Sigurdsson to the club webpage.

Obling will replace Ivanisevic, as the Serbian stalwart´s two and a half year with Gummersbach come to and end.

– I am happy and grateful to have worked with Tibor and to work until the end of the season. He has been a big factor in our story over the last three years, both after returning to the top flight and in our promotion season, where he played a big part in the development of our team. I wish him only the best for his further career steps, says Sigurdsson.
