It was a pleasant Sunday for Füchse Berlin as they comfortably beat Bergischer 37-26 away from home. Backcourt stars Mathias Gidsel and Tobias Grøndahl led their side as the duo combined for 21 goals.
Berlin looks to have found their rhythm in the league as the top side picked up their third straight win this Sunday. Traveling to Bergischer, Berlin got out of the gates quickly, grabbing an early first-half lead thanks in large part to Grøndahl, who was red-hot early on.
The centre-back orchestrated almost every Berlin attack in the beginning, scoring five goals by himself in the opening ten minutes. That set the tone for the away side, who pulled away in the first half to take a five-goal lead.
However, Bergischer fought back at the beginning of the second half and, after a few quick goals, the home side looked like they were going to make a game of it. But just as the momentum started to shift, a certain right back in Berlin decided to take over the game.
As he almost always does, Gidsel scored goal after goal to make sure that Berlin kept their advantage on the scoreboard. Scoring eleven himself, most of them in the second half, together with Grøndahl’s ten, Berlin pulled away to a comfortable eleven-goal win, putting them near the top of the table with eight points from five games.
