THW Kiel captain Domagoj Duvnjak has extended his contract with the German record champions until 30 June 2027. The 37-year-old announced the decision himself after the club’s final home match of the year against HC Erlangen, addressing supporters on the court in Kiel’s Wunderino Arena.
“I’m not finished yet,” Duvnjak told the crowd, revealing a jersey marked with the year 2027. The Croatian playmaker said he feels physically fit and highly motivated to continue, adding that Kiel has become a second home for him and his family.
Duvnjak has played for THW Kiel since 2014, winning multiple domestic and European titles. He ended his international career earlier this year as Croatia’s record appearance holder and top scorer.
