Danish Olympic champion Simon Pytlick will join Füchse Berlin in the summer of 2027, the club has confirmed today. The 24-year-old arrives from SG Flensburg-Handewitt on a contract running until 2030.
Pytlick, one of the most dynamic talents in modern handball, previously played for GOG, where he teamed up with future Berlin teammate Mathias Gidsel and worked under current Füchse coach Nicolej Krickau. The move reunites all three in the German capital.
– I’m looking forward to playing in Berlin from 2027. I hope that I can be part of an already incredibly good and well-functioning team that can take further steps in the right direction in the future, says Simon Pytlick.
– This is a huge step for us. From my point of view, Simon had no doubts when we first made contact. Simon will fit perfectly into our concept, because we want to play attractive and effective handball. We also have a healthy squad at the moment, so Simon fits in perfectly. This makes it an important commitment in all areas: for Simon, for the Füchse and for the future. This is great news for Füchse Berlin, says Nicolej Krickau.
The transfer comes after months of speculation. Reports had suggested an earlier move and a large fee, but Flensburg denied any 2026 exit. It is now officially confirmed that Pytlick will join the reigning German champions from the 2027/28 season.
