Füchse Berlin terminated the losing streak and Nicolej Krickau secured the first league win in his new coaching role. Meanwhile, SG Flensburg-Handewitt and THW Kiel applied all out attack-tactics in two point efforts on away ground.
Füchse Berlin ran the risk of trailing further behind but bounced back against MT Melsungen. The usual suspects, Mathias Gidsel took a huge part in the creation of repeated goals and Lasse Andersson was always ready with an assist.
Melsungen hang on for two thirds of the match but ten minutes where the guests only managed to score twice sealed the deal for Berlin.
Flensburg added another 43 successful shots to their already impressive stats and is the most scoring team after five rounds. What also matters is the defense and the current third placed team distanced Bergischer HC by a two-digit margin. Simon Pytlick (eight plus eight) ruled majestically with the help of fellow countryman Emil Jakobsen and solid pivot Johannes Golla.
Lukas Laube has adapted really well to the line position in THW Kiel. The Swiss national was noted for a superb season best, ten goals in the Kiel triumph versus SC Leipzig. Kiel’s offense was overwhelming already from the start and Leipzig couldn’t break the barrier to keep the game in a tight fashion.
TSV Hannover-Burgdorf produced a vital performance and controlled Rhein-Neckar Löwen towards the end. Joel Birlehm saved 14 shots to become one of the match winners, six goals from Justus Fischer also helped the winning team significantly.
