With plenty of top flight action to experience MT Melsungen triumphed again Wednesday evening. SC Magdeburg won despite a serious injury and ThSV Eisenach bounced back to clinch two point in the newcomer duel.
Melsungen ran away from HSV Hamburg in a solid team effort. The table number one has yet to drop a point on home ground and didn’t allow Hamburg to alter the statistics.
Magdeburg´s pivot and defense rock Oscar Bergendahl injured his foot early on against VfL Gummersbach. The painful incident might affect the 29-year-old´s ability to play the World Cup next month, Magdeburg rose to the occasion in his absence and distanced VfL Gummersbach by nine goals. Manuel Zehnder scored twelve times for the winning team.
In the tight battle between HSG Wetzlar and SC Leipzig the home team had the last say with Dominik Mappes first in line in the score sheet (nine goals). Eisenach wasn’t bothered by Potsdam’s attempt to find any points, Matija Spikic was clearly the best goalkeeper in the game and made a true difference for Eisenach.
TSV Hannover-Burgdorf´s first loss since the opening round was caused by Kiel´s confident start. Emil Wernsdorf Madsen and Rune Dahmke led Kiel on the right way towards 28–24.
