Bundesliga: Leipzig broke the spell

SC Leipzig put an end to their seven game long losing streak with an impressive performance, 30–18 over HSG Wetzlar. HC Erlangen captured two important Thursday point to increase the gap to the relegation zone.

Despite not having won since the end of February Leipzig appeared in confident shape and ran away from Wetzlar. Most of the damage was done in the second half, but the goalkeeper Kristian Saeveras was consistent from the start and had an excellennt percentage (60) until the break.

Franz Semper shone for Leipzig with eleven goals while Wetzlar lacked the brilliance looking back on five straight losses.

Erlangen really hit the mark on the final stretch and overpowered Rhein-Neckar Löwen with a solid margin. A total of 20 goals in the final 30 minutes (Viggo Kristjansson scored eight times) was more than enough to move reach 16th position.

The threat from SG BBM Bietigheim is still in play, Erlangen has played two more games than their main adversary.
