Bundesliga: Bergischer puts pressure on Erlangen

HC Erlangen had the chance to cut off Bergischer HC in the battle for elimination. Instead BHC crept closer and secured two very important points in a 28–25-victory.

BHC had offensive forces like Mads Kjeldgaard Andersen and almost fault free wing players like Yannick Fraatz and Tim Nothdurft. The game between the second to last team and Erlangen just above the line alos had two competent keepers.

Still, three penalty saves from Peter Johannesson  and a slightly higher save percentage made the difference as Bergicher held on to for the final 25 minutes. The home team also performed on a high level in their 5–1-defense, and Erlangen couldn’t come up with a solution until it was to late.

Only two points separate the two teams with four rounds to go. BHC´s remaining schedule: Hamburg (a), Lemgo Lippe (h), Füchse Berlin (h) and Flensburg-Handewitt (a) while Erlangen faces: Melsungen (h), Magdeburg (h), Stuttgart (h) and Hannover-Burgdorf (a).

TBV Stuttgart achieved season best when defending their home ground with 35–26 over HSV Hamburg. Daniel Fernandez was almost unstoppable from the back court and the more than occasional pass to pivot Marino Maric also helped to dispel Hamburg´s defense.
